Label Decoder
Check the label with each refill
Plain-language explanation
The pharmacy label is the current source of directions, medicine identity, and refill information. A refill may look different because of a manufacturer change even when the active ingredient is the same.
Ask your pharmacist
Ask the pharmacist to explain any change in appearance, manufacturer, or label wording before taking the refill.
Caution: Do not assume a refill is interchangeable with an older supply without checking the label and pharmacist advice.
This decoder does not diagnose, set a personal dose, or create a taper schedule. If two instructions conflict, pause and ask the dispensing pharmacist.
