Med Label Decoder
Plain English for gabapentin pharmacy-label language
This tool explains common label phrases and, where we can, pairs them with official gabapentin labeling. It does not diagnose, set a personal dose, or replace pharmacist counseling.
Refills remaining: [number]
This indicates how many additional dispensings the prescriber authorized, subject to prescription dates and local rules. It does not mean a refill will always be ready immediately.
No refills remaining
The pharmacy does not have another authorized dispensing available on that prescription. The prescriber may need to review or issue a new prescription before more can be supplied.
Contact prescriber before next refill
The prescriber has asked for a review before authorizing more medicine. That review may involve symptoms, side effects, monitoring, or treatment goals.
Rx only
This abbreviation means the product is available only with a prescription in the relevant jurisdiction. It should be used only under the supervision of a qualified prescriber and pharmacy.
Call your pharmacy with questions about this prescription
Pharmacists can explain label wording, check interactions, and help with refill or storage questions. They can also direct urgent concerns to the right level of care.
Keep follow-up appointments
Follow-up lets the care team review whether the medicine is helping, causing side effects, or needing adjustment. It is also a chance to reconcile the full medication list.
Check the label with each refill
The pharmacy label is the current source of directions, medicine identity, and refill information. A refill may look different because of a manufacturer change even when the active ingredient is the same.
